Last year I met a nurse practitioner at a seminar whose skin was absolutely perfect. I remarked on it & she confessed that she had suffered with rosacea (redness with blotches & chronic breakouts) for years until she started using Physician is Formula talc free Mineral Wear.
Start off with a clean face, not dried out, not moisturized necessarily, just clean. I suggest washing with a mild soap--no washcoths, scrubbies or ''scrubs''-- then patting dry with a fresh clean cloth, then wiping off with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol & witch hazel.
Let ur skin dry.
There is a technique to using this sort of makeup--first u load the brush. I get as much of the powder loaded into the applicator brush as I can, then tap the brush gently on the side of the container to get off the stuff that will fall off before I can get it to my face anyway. Then I ''scrub'' the brush gently in a circular motion, starting with the redder areas & finishing on the areas which r not so red.
The result is a fairly flawless finish.
I apply it in good light, leaning over the bathroom sink so any powder that falls off does not land on my clothes. I also use a makeup sponge, or clean finger tips to pat it into any places where the application was not very even, & also to blend it into my hairline.
I believe the reason why the talc free mineral makeup is good for sensitive skin is, 1) having no oil or goo in it it covers without suffocating ur skin, 2) since it is minerals only there is no place for bacteria to live so unless u get something in it, it stays clean, & 3) it is basically what nature would dust ur face with, if u were outdoors!
It could not be more natural.. And I guess u can tell that I've been using it too. As long as I use it, no bumps. If I skip several days, or try something different, I get a breakout. My daughter gave me some lovely Mary Kay age prevention cleansers & moisturizers & it took me two weeks to clear up the pimples! Back to my minerals only, my skin is again clear & healthy looking.
The price is right too--I have been using one container of powder nearly every day for six months, & there is still about 80% of the powder left. No need for the expensive stuff on the TV, it is the same (minerals r minerals!), & if u buy it locally, u can return it if the color or the product is not right for you.
